How It Works

Describe Your Character

Write a text prompt: character, action, and style. That is the only input we need.

Smooth Animation

AI generates a fluid animated sprite in seconds, with the background already removed and frames sliced.

Build Animation Sets

Turn one character into a full set: walk, run, attack, idle and more, with consistent style across every animation.

Three Ways to Create

Solo dev waving

Built by a solo dev

Hi 👋! I built Spritely because I got tired of paying too much for asset packs. Every feature exists because I needed it myself. Tell me what you need and I'll build it in!

Questions?

Is this AI art? Can I use it commercially?
Yes, sprites are AI-generated. You own the output and can use it in commercial projects.
What game engines does this work with?
All of them. Free users can export individual PNGs with transparent backgrounds that work in any engine. Paid plans include engine-native export formats for Unity, Godot 4, Phaser, GameMaker, and Aseprite (.aseprite) with properly structured atlases, animation data, and resource files.
Why is this cheaper than other tools?
We built our own sprite-sheet models, so making a sprite sheet costs us almost nothing - and we pass that on: 50 free sprite sheets every day (most tools cap free users at ~5/day). Premium styles (detailed sprites & smooth video) give you 5/day free on top. Need more? $7/month gets 150 generations, or $49 gets Full Access - every feature forever plus 500 generations to start, no recurring fees. Buy more later with gen packs ($5/100). No hidden fees.
What's the difference between Quick Generate and Project Mode?
Quick Generate creates a single sprite sheet from one prompt - great for testing ideas. Project Mode lets you plan an entire game's sprite needs, generates consistent assets across all animations, and keeps everything organized.
Can it make 3D characters?
Yes - on paid plans (Monthly and Full Access), you can turn a prompt into a rigged 3D character for 5 generations, preview animations like walk, run, attack, and idle right in the browser, and render sprite sheets from any angle. Once a character is created, all of its animations and sprite re-renders are free.
What is the MCP server?
The MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor generate sprites directly into your game project. Just describe what you need in natural language and the AI saves sprite PNGs to your project directory. MCP access is included with all paid plans (Monthly and Full Access). Create an API key in your account settings to get started.
